The Saltworks building at the Inn at Duck Creeke, Wellfleet MA Cape Cod
The Saltworks building
at the Inn at Duck Creeke is the oldest building in the complex. In the
Yankee tradition some of the buildings have been recycled and moved onto the
property from other areas of town. It was originally located alongside Cape Cod
Bay on the Outer Cape at the Wellfleet Harbor. Built in the early 1700s,
it contains some interesting architectural details. The three millstones which
comprise part of its walkway were grinding stones used at the salt works mill
and the middle beam in the sunroom is from one Wellfleet's former sailing
vessel.
The Saltworks contains five smaller bedrooms and sleeps a maximum of ten guests. These rooms are air-conditioned. The first floor room has a Queen Bed with Private Bath. The four bedrooms on the second floor share two bathrooms. Each has three windows. One of the rooms has Two Twin Beds and the other three rooms each have One Double Bed.
For the guests staying there is a small lobby and a larger wicker sunroom which looks back to the Inn and also to the pond. There is a small beverage fridge. Rooms are rented separately on a daily basis or all together for reunions, wedding groups, families and friends. *Please understand this building is for the exclusive use of the guests staying there and can not be a gathering place for others.
